Who We Are
We are Mariano and Edward, brothers-in-law and good friends.
Mariano is an Argentinian/Italian who trained as an electronics engineer. After working as a business and technology consultant for Accenture and IBM, Mariano is currently innovation manager in a technology firm. He’s been in love with programming since 1984, his wife since 2001 and his daughter, Natalia, since she came into their lives in 2009.
Edward is English, has a PhD in political science and currently works for the intelligence unit of arguably the best magazine in the world. He’s been passionate about research and writing since he picked up his first book ('Peter and Jane'), and is dedicated to his wife and twin daughters, Isabella and Sofia.
Why Double Wedge
We got together on this project in July 2009. Both of us had become fathers at around the same time and we quickly realized that there was a need for a tool to manage all our babies' information and let us know the basics about dozens of issues (when do babies first crawl, what on earth is 'colic'). Believing an iPhone app is the best way to do it, we created a simple, intuitive tool designed to help mom and dad keep their babies’ information at hand and have a concise reference guide to the main parenting issues.
babymate is intended to be a smart approach to this problem, and we hope to create many more in the future
